Get Up for Therapeutic Skating

Michael is the Director of the Therapeutic Skating Program at The Skating Club of Boston.  Each Saturday from September through May, volunteer instructors spend 40 minutes working with a variety of skaters with special needs, teaching them how to skate. Our skaters Get Up, even with the most serious of challenges, to skate.  Our instructors Get Up every Saturday to provide that special experience with our skaters. Many of our instructors stay to do the program after a long morning of training and other activities. Together, they form bonds that go beyond skating and will transform both of their lives.

As the program’s director, I am so honored to be able to manage this program and see these relationships for week to week, session to session, and year to year. It makes me Get Up and want to ensure this program endures.
